2026 California Region (University Level)
The tournament champion is the team that wins the final match of the elimination rounds at a VEX Robotics competition. This award recognizes a team's ability to perform under pressure, execute effective strategies, and demonstrate superior robot design and driver skill throughout the tournament, culminating in a championship victory against top competitors.
The Skills Champion Award is presented to the team with the highest combined score in the Robot Skills Challenge and Autonomous Coding Skills Challenge at a VEX Robotics competition. This award recognizes excellence in robot design, programming, driver control, and consistent performance, demonstrating a team's ability to optimize both autonomous routines and driver-operated gameplay through strategic engineering, iterative testing, and effective teamwork.
During my first year on the university team, CPSLO, we won all of the regional tounements we attended in California. We also won the biggest VEXU competition in the world which was held at Purude University. Our final tournament of the 25-26 season was the VEXU World Championship in Dallas, Texas where we placed 2nd in our division making us world-semi finalists in the end.

2025 California Region 3: State Champion, Skills Champion, Excellence Award

This award recognizes a team's ability to perform under pressure, execute effective strategies, and demonstrate superior robot design and driver skill throughout the tournament, culminating in a championship victory against top competitors.
The Skills Champion Award is presented to the team with the highest combined score in the Robot Skills Challenge and Autonomous Coding Skills Challenge at a VEX Robotics competition. The Excellence Award recognizes overall excellence in both the Judged Award and the Performance Award categories. The Excellence Award incorporates all the criteria of the Design Award, plus the added component of a team’s on-field performance at the event.
Key criteria of the Excellence Award are:
- Be at or near the top of qualitative Engineering Notebook rankings with a Fully Developed Notebook.
- Both the Team Interview and Engineering Notebook demonstrate independent inquiry from the beginning stages of the team’s design process through execution.
- The Engineering Notebook is consistent with the qualities demonstrated in the Team Interview and robot design.
- Team demonstrates effective management of time, personnel, and resources.
- Team Interview demonstrates the students’ ability to explain their robot design and game strategy.
- Team Interview demonstrates effective communication skills, teamwork, and professionalism.
- Engineering Notebook, Team Interview, and conduct at the event demonstrate a student-centered ethos.
- The team is a candidate in consideration for other Judged Awards.
- The team exhibits positive team conduct, good sportsmanship, and professionalism.
- At the conclusion of Qualification Matches, the team is ranked in the top 40% of teams at the event.
- At the conclusion of the Robot Skills Challenge matches, the team is ranked in the top 40% of teams at the event.
- At the conclusion of the Autonomous Coding Skills Challenge matches, the team is ranked in the top 40% of teams with a score above zero.

The Design Award recognizes an organized and professional approach to the Engineering Design Process, project and time management, and team organization. Student demonstration of the Engineering Design Process is fundamental to the educational value of RECF programs. The Design Award recognizes a team's ability to document and explain their Engineering Design Process via an Engineering Notebook and Team Interview.
Key criteria of the Desgin Award are:
- Be at or near the top of qualitative Engineering Notebook rankings with a Fully Developed Notebook.

2023 California Region 3 State Champion Finalist
The tournament finalist award is given out to the team who has placed 2nd in the elimination rounds at a VEX Robotics competition. This was my first full year in VEX and my team ended up placing within the top 32 teams at an international level compeition in the Bay Area and placed 2nd at the state championship. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about robotics, teamwork, and competition.
2022 San Luis Obispo County Honor Band
Being apart of the marching band during my first year in high school and being selected for the honor band was a great experience. I got to meet new people, learn new music, and perform at different events around the county. It was a great way to get involved in the school community and learn with talented musicians from around the county.
